The city firemen were busily engaged today in repainting and cleaning up their Jiving quarters on the second floor of the city hall. A lot of pea-green paint was used, even on the refrigerator. New linoleum was laid on the floor and the entire place was made quite attractive. Greencastle Chapter No. 255 of the Order of Eastern Star will meet Wednesday, Dec. 7 in their regular stated meeting when all Past Matrons and Past Patrons will be honored by the chapter. There will be a short Christmas program with a social hour to | follow. All O. E. S. members are | welcome.

Mt. Meridian VV. S. C. S. In November Meeting The Mt. Meridian WSCS held its November meeting at the home of Mrs. Oren Buis . The meeting was opened by repeating the Lord’s Prayer and singing "Bless Be The Tie.” The loll was called and the members answered their presence by giving a verse from tha Bible containing the word Thanksgiving. There are three boys in service overseas who are to receive Xmas boxes filed by the ladies of the group. Plans were made to have a silent auction a f a later date. Our Xmas meeting will be held at the County Farm and at that meeting each member is to bring a gift to one of the residents there. There were eight members of the Pleasant Hill WSCS at our meeting. Mrs. Gladys Cook gave the devotions by reading the 29th. verse of 118th Psalm and giving a reading on Thanksgiving as their part of the devotionals. Mrs. Barbara Boshen was co-hos-tess and gave several interesting contests. There were deicious refreshments served to eleven members, eight guests and three children.

A duet, “Have You Counted the Cost” by Mrs. Lucille Hutcheson and Mrs. Lois Thompson. Mrs. Mildred Hutcheson gave the report of the Society and its accomplishments in these past 15 years. Fifteen members and two guests attended. The meeting closed by repeating the Lord’s Prayer in unison.

Following the meeting everyone made a tour of the Union Building. After that everyone went to the Coca-Cola plant for a tour of the plant. Everyone learned tHe way the bottles were washed and filled and other interesting things in the plant. At the end of the tour everyone was given cokes and the new orange drink the plant is making. From there everyone went to the curtain factory for a tour. There they saw the ways curtains were made. This ended the
day's tour.

Group Sends Flowers To C’hnrehes The Roachdale Chapter F.H A. in observance of National FHA Week, sent a bouquet of flowers to the churches represented in our organization. 1'he flowers were sent to the following curchcs on Sunday, October 30. The Roachdale Christian Church, Roachdale Presbyterian Church, Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Parkersburg Christian Church, and Somerset Christian Church. After church, the flowers were sent to an ill person in the community. On Sunday, November 6. some of our FHA. members attended our president’s church at Somerset.
