STOTT HEI NION The annual Scott reunion was held July 31st at the home of Mr. and Mrs. V. V. McCammack south of Belle Union, with 70 relative.' and friends attending. At the noon hour a bountiful dinner was spread on long tables on the lawn, which was enjoyed by all. Following the dinner a short business meeting was held with the pr< sident, Ray Cline, presiding. Minutes of last year were read by Garnet Horton. Officers for next year are Clifford Horton, president; George Finney, vice president, and Garnet Horton, secretary. Entertainment followed the meeting: Miss Lou Ann Sinclair played a clarinet solo, Miss Joann Cummings an alto horn solo with Mrs. Lenore Long at the piano, Ray Allen Horton and Phylis Jean Horton sang two numbers accompanied by Wilma I^ni Horton, Mrs. Ancel Keller and Mrs. Eldon Wheeler sang a duet, Sue Ann I»!ig sang a solo, each number accompanied by Mrs. Long; Wendell Hurst gave several magic acts to entertain

the group. Mrs. Bessie Green of Cloverdale, won the prize for the oldest guest attending, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Wheeler wor. the prize for the youngest, Mrs. Mary Beaman, Foit Wayne was the winner of the prize for the one coming the longest distance. Relatives and friends from Fort Wayne, Rockville, Frankfort, Martinsville, Seymour, Pittsboro. Greencastle, Cloverdale, Belle Union and Indianapolis were in attendance. The reunion next year will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Scott near New Brunswick. Entertainment following the. meeting.

PALESTINE M. E. Smith a former resident of this Community passed away suddenly at his home on July 19th. He had been in ill health for the past two years. Miss Holliday will be a I senior at Greencastle High | School this year and was select- | ed the editor of the Minaret for | the coming year. She attended ! Hoosier Girls State earlier this summer and was also a participant in the State English contest this spring. This was the third year for Miss Holliday to retura i to Indiana University as a parti1 cipant in State Contests. She won the honor for two years in Latin and one year in English. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Holliday, Greencastle R. R. 1.
