J. Rex Queeney and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Furnee of Grosse Pointe,* Detroit, Mich., are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Queeney in Northwood. The guests of the Queeneys expect to leave on Tuesday for their Detroit home. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Umbreit and sons. Tommy and Terry, have returned from Les Angeles. The Umbreits spent the past several months on tne West Coast, where Mr. Umbreit directed the Greater DePauw University drive in California and other states. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Newgent arrived home Sunday from a trip to California. While en route home. Mrs. Newgent fell and suffered a fractured ankle in Prescott, Arizona. She was in the hospital a few days there, bui was released in time for her to get home Sunday afternoon. ■ Charles Jackson, 19, Bainj bridge, pleaded guPty to a charge of malicious trespass when arraigned before Judge John H. Alice in the Putnam circuit court Saturday. The youth was fined for damaging equipment in the men’s first floo- restroom at the court house Thursday night and also ordered to pay the court costs, the total amount being SI 5.25. Mrs. Virginia Hebei of Champaign, 111., returned to her home today after visiting her parents Prof, and Mrs. Clarke Arncld. Mrs. Hebei will go on to Lombard, 111., where she will jo>n her husband in an Over Easter vocation with his family. SOCIETY .Mr, and Mrs. Ashworth Observe Golden Wedding Mr. and Mrs. William Ashworth observed tueir Golden Wedding anniversary Sunday. Only the children and a few intimate friends were present fci the occasion, due to health conditions. They were united in marriage by the late A. T. Riley. Mrs. Ashworth was Miss Bessie Cox until her marriage. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Cox, and both she and Mr. Ashworth were born and reared near Fern, went to school together and were close personal friends long before their mar-

riage.

They have three children who helped them observe the Golden anniversary. They are Gerald who lives with his parents, Kenneth of south of the cky and Fay

of Indianapolis.

Mr. Ashworth has been eirlployed by the New York Central Railroad since i903, when he started working as a water boj on the section. He remained with the section, through his foremanship and then transferred to the train service and is notv serving in the capacity of a brakeman, although he is a conductor, on the Southwestern Limited from Indianapolis to St. Louis and returns on an express train, carrying from 11 to 18 cars. They have lived in Greencastle all their lives, except for a period vf nine years when they ivc ' in Indianapolis, although | they maintained their home here

Miss Mary Lee Spencer Is Bride of Thomas R. Moore A beautiful w'eddhig was solemnized in the Federated church of Russellville Eastei Sunday afternoon when Miss Mary Lee Spencer, daughter of Mr. am. Mrs. George M. Spencer was united in marriage to Thomas Reid Moore, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Moore of Decatur, Alabama. Mr. Moore has recently beer, stationed with the Rockville Air Force base. The double ring ceremony was read by the Reverend Richard Hudelson before a capacity audience of friends of the bridal couple. Mrs. Roscoe White, Judson, presided at the organ. She played a program of wedding music prior to the entrance of the bridal party, which entered the church to the strains of the Mendelssohn Wedding mar' h. Th(? L*S W traditional white sai.fn Kith a tram and a crown with a finger tip veil. She carried a carillon fashioned of Easter Jil.es. The all white theme was carried throughout the wedding The maid of honor was Miss Martha Spencer, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids included Miss Margaret Ann Spencer, sister of the bride; Miss Beverly Cooper, and Miss Madonna Harbison of Russellville. The little flower girl was Miss Shirley Block of Crawfordsville, a cousn of the bride. The bridegroom's attendants were Bob Neal, Deeatur, Ala., best man, and the ushers were John Poppino, Rockville; George Spencer brother of the bride: and Don Moser, Waveland. The maid of honor wore a white brocaded cotton ballerina length dress, of Princess style and carried a bouquet of red and white carnations. The bridesmaids each wore dresses of white brocaded cotton and they carried baskets of variegated colored flowers. The flower girl wore a white embroidered o“gandy dress and carried sweetheart roses. Mrs. Spencer, ihe bride’s mother, wore a Dior blue shantung dress with jacket and a navy and white hat. Mrs. Moon wore navy blue crepe with white collar and navy accessories. Each wore pink rose corsages. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the basement of the church and the traditional wedding cake was cut by the bride. Following the reception, the bridal couple left for a shor: .vedding trip, after which thej will be at home at 261 Farley Drive. Speedway City, Indianapolis.
