M . and Mrs. Frank Vaughn. 55 years today, January 22. GUARDS RELEASED BOSTON. Jan. 22.—(UP)Seven men who persuaded four rebellious convicts to surrender their hostages and end a fourday revolt at Massachusetts State Prison promised today to seek hope for the rebels. The four convicts, all Under sentences of virtual life imprisonment, surrendered unconditionally at 2:30 p. m. Friday and turned over their arms to a sev-en-man citizens’ committee. COLD MOVES IN
1 K
More snow’ and a new cold front covered large parts cf the West and Midw’est early today, but winter eased up slightly on the Eastern section of the nation The cold air driving across the Plains states into the Midwest and Ohio Valley dropped temperatures sharply, pushing the mercury down to four above zero at Minot, N. D., and .to none at Mason City, Iowa. Light snow accompanied the cold, turning highways slick and snarling traffic in some places. IN MEMORY In loving memory of our dear mother, Dora Jane Cooper, who passed away Jan. 23, 1949. A precious one from us is gone, A voice we loved is stilled, A place is vacant in our home That never can be filled. We do not forget you, Nor do we intend, 'We think of you often And will to the end. Sadly missed by family.
