FIRST PILOTED PLANE FIRED FROM MOBILE LAUNCHER
I
A truck-mounted launcher, very similar to those used f.or pilotless aircraft, is employed for the first time at Edw^.ds Air Force base, Calif, to launch a piloted plane. The plane taking off from the zero-length launcher is an F-84G jet fighter. Th e launcher w'is developed by the Martin Aircraft company, which produces the Martin Matador pilotless bomber for the U. S. Air Force.
