West Marion Home Demonstration Club met a* the home of Mrs. Ray Lawson on Friday January seventh. The meeting opened with the reading of the song history by Mrs Carl Nichols who led the singing of the song of the month. Mrs. Frank Toney gave the lesson on Size, Fitting and Cons* ruction of ready-made dresses. She discussed the importance of selecting a dress of the right size with minor fitting problems. One of the first things in selecting a well constructed garment is to be sure each piece has been cut on the correct grain of the fabric. A tour of the IBM plant was planned for February 4. at 10 a m. Mrs. Paul Sinclair demonstrated the copper planter she had made in the Special Interest Lesson on Metal Tooling. Mrs. Gene Ozment became a new member of the club. Mrs. Roland DeWeese won the two contests conducted by Mrs. Ver nie Zeiner. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Carl Nichols on February 11, with Mrs. Paul Cassady giving the lesson on low calorie salads and desserts.
