The couple aie at home to their friends at the Hunter apartment on the Stilesville - Greencastle road. Mrs. Larry Applegate Hostess To Club The Friendly Circle Home Demonstration Club met with Mrs. Larry Applegate for their January meeting. The president, Mrs. James Woodall, opened the meeting with the pledge to the flag and club creed. Mrs. Paul Wright gave the story of the song of the month and led the singing of “Home Sweet Home.” The lesson on size, fitting and construction of buying drosses was given by Mrs. Roy Brackney. Mrs. Rosa Knauer gave the outlook lesson. Mrs. Litha King gave the safety hint. The meeting closed with the dub prayer. A social hour was enjoyed by fourteen members and two guests, Mrs. Ernest Green and Mrs. Opal Ellis, and four children. The assisting hostess, Mrs. Laura Owen, gave three contests which were won by Mrs J. J Harrold, Mrs. Ernest Green and Mrs. Ruth Watt. The door prize was won by Frances Nichols^. Lovely refreshments were serveef by the hostess and her assistant. The next meetmg will be with Mrs. Paul Wright.
The Thursday Club Meets
The January meeting of the Thursday Club was held with j Mrs. Lulu Cox. with thfrteen members and one guest present. The morning was speht socially and at noon a bountiful pitch- J in dinner was served. During the day meetings on water safety and first aid were held in the Putnam County Red Cross office. During the afteinoon, Mr. Hotop met with Charles Erdmann, Miss Mary Lou Miller and Miss Ethel Mitchell of DePauw. NEW YORK, Jan. 12 (UP) Police searched today for a “crackpot” who set off a homemade bomb in Pennsylvania station Tuesday at the height of the evening rush hour. No one was injured. The bomb, a piece of pipe 4 inches long and 1U inches in diameter, was capped at both ends.
