Past Matron’s Club Holds Meeting The Cloverdale Past Matron’s Club met December 21, in the dining room of the Masonic Temple. Meeting opened by singing and reading the collect in unison. Roll call was answered by nine members and one guest, Mrs. Bert Gross. Three members turned in thenrain bags. Minutes and treasurer’s report were approved as read. President Larue Gray reported she had purchased seven dozen glass cups to be added to the lovely punch set. A note was read from a member, Mrs. Meek. Esther Fry read the Christmas story, “A Little Boy Down the Lane.” Following the penny collection and closing verse everyone en joyed the gift exchange and the pretty Christmas tree. Delicious refreshments were served by Larue Gray and Eva Craggs Everyone was sorry Mrs. Haliie Sipple could not be present and wishes her and her husband a speedy recovery. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Mary Markin with responses by Haliie Sipple.

Mrs. Howard Henton Hostess To Club The Castle Toppers Home Demonstration Club met Jan. 5 at the home of Mrs. Howard Henton. The meeting was called to order by the president, Mrs. Carl Myers, followed by the club song and flag salute. A very interesting lesson on “Buying Ready Made Dresses,” was given by Ama Rea Henton. The secretary and tieasurer reports were given after which four new members joined. They are Estie Dailey, Judith Ann Dailey. Karn Birt and Carol Taylor. New officers for the year were installed by Mrs. Gladys Spiker After old and new business was taken care of the meeting wr* closed with the club prayer. The social hour consisted of games, contests and refreshments by the hostess. Everyone had a very good time despite the downpour of rain. Locust Grove Club Met January 5 Locust Grove CJub met at the home of Mrs. Lillian Elliett Wednesday afternoon Jan 5th with t’- eive members present. The business meeting was opened by the group singing the song of the month. Mrs. Elliett read two short poems for her devotions. The club voted to give a donation to the “March of Dimes.”
