their 65th since 1906.
Although the visiting Bengals already have won two and lost two in the conference, it will be the first loop outing of the season for Butler, last year’s cc-
, champions.
In this 48-year-o!d series, the Bulldogs hold a comfortable 4123 edge in victories. Last year each team took a 10-point verdict on its home floor. Butler dropped five of its first seven games in the current campaign, but all of the losses were inflicted by Big 10 opponents. Cal Luther’s Tiger outfit has a record of three wins, four losses
and one tie.
T he tie, produced by a scoring error, was a 67-67 standoff against Wabash, a team which Tony Hinkle and company beat in the Fieldhouse, 79-67. Two Indianapolis products— Howe's Cob Schrier at DePauw and Broad Ripple’s Wally Cox at Butler*—are leading their respective clubs in scoring this season thus adding a bit of intra-city competition to Saturday’s clash. Schrier, a sophomore forwarc who holds the one-season scoring record for DePauw with 32 j points, is canying a 19.9 average; and Cox, one of three freshmen in the Butler starting lineup, has a 14-plus average. Paired with Cox at guard for Butler will be Bobby Plump, top"arked prep eager in Indiana last : year while playing for Milan's | -.tate champions. Plump has averaged 11 points <i game since making his first appearance against Purdue. Other DePauw starters are sophomore Sam Ulmer at center, senior Ron McCammack and I freshman John Bunnell at the guards, and junior John Dehner at the other forward. Bunnell has been one of the defensive
standouts this season, and McCammack is second in scoring with 81 points. Along with Cox and Plump. Hinkle probably will start senior Don Holloway at center and junior Joe Ditmire and freshman Ted Guzek at forward. Holloway trails Cox in th« point department with 68 and a 13-plus average.
Local Net Teams Split Twin Bill Two Greencastle teams split a double-header at Crawfordsville Wednesday evening. The local 8th Graders won their tilt, 38^to 36, while the 9th Grade squad lost to the host team, 40 to 34.
