The W.S.C.S. of Clinton Falls has postponed their meeting until October 13th on Wednesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Searles of Nazareth, Pa., are visiting their son, Robert Searles, 501 S. Jackson St. Putnam County Home Demonstration chorus will meet Monday, October 4th, for rehearsal in Gobin church basement. The Morton Eastern Star will have a chicken supper from 5:30 until 8 p. m. Saturday. All proceeds will go to renovating the Morton Masonic Lodge hall. Wilbur Donner is in Cleveland, Ohio today to attend the World Series game between the New York Giants and the Cleveland Indians. He will be the guest of Mr. and Mrs. William Ong. A temporary road blockade was set up by the state police at the Putnamville Post early Friday morning following an attempted robbery of the bank at Fairbanks, in Sullivan county, at 3:30 a. m. Word has been received from Detroit of the accidental death of Robert Hutcheson, 29, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville (Dutch) Hutcheson, former Putnam county residents. Funeral and burial will be in Detroit Saturday afternoon. Dr. Herbert L. Heller, associate professor of education at DePauw, has been invited to address a meeting of the Woman’s Press Club of Indiana in Hotel Washington in Indianapolis on Oct. 12th. Meeting hostesses will include Mrs. John B. Boyd of Greencastle. The Communion Service will be a part of the worship services at the Mt. Meridian Methodist Church at 9:30 Sunday morning and at Putnamville Methodist Church at 7:30 Sunday evening. In each place the message will be brought h.v Rev. Richard Hamilton of Bloomington. MYF NEWS The Putnamville MYF met Thursday evening, Sept. 30 with forty members present. Gilbert Knetzer assisted by Mrs. Knetzer and Mrs. Marjorie Lisby from Fillmore, gave a very interesting program. Dick Friend had charge of the entertainment. Junior MYF will meet Tuesday evening at 6:00. MYF meeting every Thursday at 7:30. Band practice every Thursday at 6:00. Putnamville W. S. C. S. Met With Mrs. Boyd The Putnamville W.S.C.S. met Sept. 22 at the home of Essie Boyd. The meeting was called \ order by the president and opened with group singing of "Way of The Cross Leads Home.” and prayer by Mrs. Della Day.^ Devotions were given by Mrs. Blue. Mrs. Boyd had the lesson. Lovely refreshments were served by the hostess, Mrs. Boyd. Those present w’ere, Ida Blue, Della Day, Rena Evens, Bessie Jones, Opal Jackson, Bernice Lewis, Myra Parks. Madonna McCullough, Lola Rogers, Opal Scobee, Shirley Schafer, Floy Woodall, Bonnie Williams, Julia Haggerty, Lucille Whitman and Mrs. Boyd. We w’ere happy to have as our guests, Cornelia Finn, Blanche Whitten, Thelma Brooks and Minnie Lewis.
Belle Union Band Parents To Meet Oct. 4 The Belle Union Band Parents will meet Monday night at the school building, Oct. 4 at 7:30. All parents who has a child playing an instrument are asked to be there as outfits has been bought for them and one will be there for us to see so we would like for each parent to be there. Mrs. Knight Hostess To Reelsville Club Mrs. Edythe Knight entertained the Reelsville Social Club at her home Sept. 22nd. A delicious dinner was enjoyed at noon by sixteen members. Ida McCullough giving thanks. The president, Blanche Girton, opened the afternoon session. Louise Johnson gave the devotions. Roll call was answ-ered by naming a National Park. Secretary's and treasurer’s reports were given. The history of Arizona was by Ruth Lewis and points of interest in Arizona by Bessie Cook. Two contests were given prizes going to Bessie Cook, Lucille Aker, Anthea Boyer and Ida McCullough. The next meeting will be with Blanch Reel. Oct. 27th.
