*A few exceptions exist because State Farm has redefined the boundaries of its Indiana rating territories to guarantee that each member's rates are based on actual conditions in his own area. As a result, a few members living near some of the cities listed above are in areas now considered "urban” rather than "rural.” Costs in "urban" areas are generally higher. So the rates that now apply to these members may result in a net increase ... or a decrease different from that indicated in the table. The few members who do receive an increase are still saving a substantial sum, compared with the cost of ordinary auto insurance.

Members cash in on the saving their own careful driving makes possible State Farm Mutual—the “careful driver insurance company” — lias just finished the regular review of its rates in Indiana. Throughout the state, it is reducing rates on most coverages to reflect the reduced cost of insuring its members. These coverages include: “Liability”—the insurance that helps pay the cost of jury awards, lawsuits, and out-of-court settlement of claims against policyholders... “Comprehensive”—the insurance that helps pay for loss of or damage to an automobile from causes other than collision or upset (such as tire, windstorm, theft, and other perils) . . . “Collision”—the insurance (“80%” or “Deductible”) which helps pay for damage to the insured car resulting from an accident. Specific rate reductions are indicated in the table to the left. For present State Farm members, they become effective on the date next premium is due. They apply as of September 6 for all new members.

Now you can save even more money with State Farm’s “careful driver insurance”

State Farm auto insurance has always been priced below the cost of ordinary auto insurance. These new rate cuts make it an even better buy. The cost is low because State Farm deliberately aims to insure careful drivers only. Careful driving holds down accident costs. With State Farm auto insurance you also get fast, fair, friendly claim service ... the convenience of semiannual payments at no extra cost. .. the peace of mind that comes from dependable protection.
