BRITISH scientists proudly report they’ve bee* able to freezeconcentrate beer. Maybe TV comedian Jackie Gleason was a prophet when he had his charac:er, “Reggie Van Gleason,” invent 'Instant Booze.” ! ! ! The frozen British brew is reluccd to a third its bulk. Is this x new kind of ‘'small beer" T ! ! ! Zodok Dumkopf wonders if rozen beer is more properly erved with o spoon instead of in i stein. ! ! ! The man at the next desk says e visualizes complications if lama mistakes the frozen brew
for ice cubes and uses ’em to chill the lemonade for the Thursday luncheon of the Ladies’ Aid society. » » * Come to think of it, how long would it take a veteran toper to get “boiled" on frozen beerf ! ! f No matter how tasty we doubt if frozen beer would ever replace ice cream cs a topper for pie-a-la-mode. * • • The London announcement about the freeze-concentration of beer says it was developed for export use only. What's the matter?—does the stuff taste really that bad?
