FISHIN' FUH The new non-sinking flyline that the Claddings people have brought on the market is proving to be a huge success. These lines are a dark brown color, and the finish is very- soft and smooth. Under the surface, there are thousands of tiny air bubbles, that keep the line afloat, without any kind of dressing. The glossy finish of these lines repel any kind of dirt that might be in the water, thereJ/.Te it isn’t necessary to clean the line. Fly fishing enthusiasts have been looking for this type line for years. Bv the way, the fyace is no higher than the conventional type .... THE SPORTSMAN’S SHOP Putnam County Tackle Box

Local dry cleaners’ offer to ele;in American flags at no cost before Flag Day, June 14, has met with little response, according to a report reaching our desk, j | We believe this offer sponsored by the Legion. V.F.W. and Elks, with the cooperation of the dry cleaning establishments, is a worthy one which all patriotic citizens should take advantage of until Saturday. Take your soiled flags to White Cleaners, Home
Launrdy or Ideal Cleaners.
As result of the sunshine Saturday, Sunday and Monday, it may be in order to quote “What is so rare as a day in June.” As usual, the comer of Vine and Washington streets, continues to be a bottleneck for traffic. Saturday was no exception and due to the congestion, one accident occurred in the intersection. It is almost impossible for autos or trucks on Vine to get across Washington or even swing into the east and westbound flow of traffic on Washington. We ask. can’t something be done about this situation? We think TV TONIGHT

news.
We understand a colored inmate of the state farm, who appeared in court las\ week, charged with escaping from the Putnamville institution, presented a rather unusual excuse. It seems that the colored man heard that there were ffjme watermelons across the road from the farm and his taste for them got the best of him. He claimed that in his search for the melons he got lost and was unable to find his way back to the farm. There is a movement underway to modernize the sexton’s house at Forest Hill cemetery. Only one room of the four-room, two story building is in use and that ;s the office of Jack Rogers, who is in charge of the cemetery. Jack has done a fine job in cleaning up the building and hopes to have rest rooms and a lounge or small chapel in the structure in the near future.

We had the pleasure of inspecting Fay Ray's garden in Cloverdale Sunday afternoon. Gardening is the main hobby of Putnam county's welfare fjirector and believe it or not, he had a ripe tomato on one of the vines. Fay says this is the earliest he has ever had a ripe tomato in his garden.
