Gary Steele, .son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Steele, Greencastle K. I, entered the Riley hospital Tuesday for treatment. Dallas Gooch of Greencastle and Johnny Shoemaker of Fillmore left Sunday for Endicott, N. Y , for training with IBM Arthur Giltz of Bainbridge is now associated with Barrett’s furniture store in Greencastle. Mr .and Mrs. Giltz spent the winter in Sebring, Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Tony A. Dutton of Milwaukee, Wis., visited Sunday with Mrs. Rosa Knauer and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Knauer. Mrs. Dutton is the former Franes Knauer, granddaughter of Mrs. Rosa Knauer. Guests over the week end of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hinote of Roelsville weie Gene Deweese of Rochester; Beverly Amers of Muncie, Joyce Jarvis of Indianapolis and Bill and Charles Amers of Greencastle. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Knauer of Greencastle tt. R. 4 attended the Montmorenci senior ciass play, “Finder’s Creepers’’, March 25 at Montmorenci, Indiana. Her nephew, Bobbie Kerkhove. had one of the leading parts. Charles Amers, son of Mrs. Joe Hinote, has enlisted in the U. S. Army. Amers will be sent to Arizona for basic training, and will go from there to Texas to attend electronics school. He has been employed at Barren's for the past several years. Mr. and Mrs. Louis H. Dirks were in Indianapolis on Tuesday evening for a panel discussion held at ihe Thomas Carr Howe High School before the Irvington Pa rent-Teachers Association. Mr. Dirks who was well acquainted with the late M>. Howe, brought out interesting anecdotes in his life. Others on the panel discussed cultural and other phases of the history and life of Irving-

ton.

Mrs. Etta Scott Hostess To t Inb The Golden Rod Club held its March meeting at the home of Mrs. Etta Scott with seven members and one guest attending. The meeting was opened by the president, Mrs. Inez Moore, with all singing America and repeating the Lord’s prayer in unison. Roll call was answered bv naming an Irish song Following the business meeting an auction sale was held, and birthday handkerchiefs were given to DeNolia Turner. After which a social hour was held and refreshments served The meeting was closed with a prayer by the chaplain The April meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Bertha Turner. Members are asked to bring handkerchiefs for the birthdays in April, and an article for the auction sale. Also the members are asked to wear an Easter hat they have made. Prizes will be given for the prettiest and most unusual hat.

WSCS To Hold Spring Party In Gohm C hurch April 2S is the date and the Community Room of Gobin Memorial Methodist Church is the place. Springtime is a time for parties and the fun and so the women of the WSCS have decided to have a party for you— the women of Greencastle. The party is to be another spring luncheon and is being repeated this year mainly because of many requests that we do so. Many of you will recall the delightful luncheon of last spring and we think we can promise you that this one will be equally pleasant. So we suggest that you "lark the date on your calendar Tight now and plan to be with us on April 28. The price is modest, only 81.25 for the luncheon and we assure you there will be plenty of good food.
