Auto Club Has Safety Program JASPHR. Ind.. Jan. 26—(INS) The Indiana Junior Auto Club, Jasper No. 1 has embarked on an inique traffic safety campaign. The club has prepared a series >f postal cards which will be sent to owners of automobiles and trucks which are observed oj nembers as violating traffic cgulations. Each of the cards lists the license numbei of the vehicle, flowed by this paragraph: It is our dutyrto inform you that your motor vehicle has been observed violating Indiana state motor law—. Date, time and place of violation also are listed. On the card sent for the first violation also appears the following: “The Indiana Junior Auto Club. Jasper No. 1, is interested in traffic safety in our county. Consepiently. this friendly note is be mg sent to you. a record of which is being kept in our peimnal files. If three violations art noted for one vehicle, the name and license number will be turned over to the Indiana Slate Police for their action. Your cooperation in keeping our highways safe is urgently requested.”

State Business Hade Increase

BLOOMINGTON. Ind.. Jan. ?o The Indiana University Bureau of Business Research today reported that December showed seven-point business increase over November in Indiana. The Bureau s monthly publication. the Indiana Business Review. attributed to upward trend 'o increase activity in building contracts and sales of electric power. The Review said: “December business was ?1 most equal to the 1952 average, but more than five points below •Jie December. 1952. index " Building construction index was 61.4 points higher in December than in November and 56 points higher than in December of 1952. The index of electricpower production climbed to 138.9 after reaching its low for the year in November. Contributing to the rosier December picture was increased demand for coal, an increase in hog sales .and the post-season clearance sale strengthening of department store sales. Bank index of debits fell for the seventh straight month and steel production u r as disappointing. Total employment held up rather well considering weakness in ome manufacturing areas, paricularly primary metal production, transportation equipment md furniture and fixtures, all betw 1953 December levels.

Two Net Games Here Tomorrow

Two net tilts will be played in the Greoneastle high school gym Wednesday evening which will be of interest to local fans. The Clinton Center squad will Wangle with the Sixth Grade teai i of the Jones school and the Tent Haute Gerstmeyer and GreencasUe B teams will stage a return match. Gerstmeyer B has lost only two games this season, bowing to Richmond by two points and losing to Greoneastle by 11 points. The first game starts at 6 p m. and the nightcap should get inderway about 7:15.

Jan. 26 (UP)—The board of works here ordered a hearing Thursday for five firemen suspended by Chief Joseph Rudd on charges of insubordination. Rudd accused the men ssf circulating petitions seeking hi.*’ dismissal. The suspensions Monday trimmed the city’s fire department personnel to 16. and oft duty firemen were summoned fx work to maintain adequate protection.
