aw ardkd scholarship Darlene Dicks, Warren Central High School senior, has been awarded a $4,000 Art scholjarship to Rollins College, Winter Park Florida, beginning in the fall. Miss Dicks received this scolarship on academic ability and achievement. She was one of six in the nation to receive this highly competitive award offered 1; and the University of Winter Park, Fla.

She has exhibited her art work at the Indiana State Fair, Danner Art Store and H. Leiber Store in Indianapolis. She was winner of a National Scholastic art Award in 1948 on her Oil painting of a “Mare and Colt," besides winning other numerous local art awards. Darlene was varsity cheerleader 2 years, member of the Warrenettes, Junior and Senior Honor Society very active in girl’s athletics. She received the State Girl's Athletic Placque in

1952 for participation in the athletic department to earn 350 points. Also, as a member of the school chorus group, she was in the vocal Solo group and won first in the county and regional and second in the State. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Dicks of Indianapolis, formally of Fillmore. Her grandparents are Mr. W. L. Baldwin ot Coatesville and Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Dicks, formally from Fill-
