Minnie M. Buis was born in Marion Tow’nship, Putnam county, on January d. 1868. and departed this life November 29th, 1P52, at the age of 84 years. 10 months and 28 days. The daughter of Thomas J. and Rebecca Weatherly Ruark, she was one of a family of eight children: Marietta, who died in infancy, George, Albert, Gilbert. Mrs. Della Glidwell. Mrs. Mrs. Ruby Coffin and Mrs. Jewell Gorham of Greencastle. whe

on November 2, 1887, she was united in marriage to Emerson Etheridge Buis, and this union lasted 57 years until December 20th, 1945, when her beloved companion was taken in dfath. They were the parents of five children, all of whom survive. They are: Oran E. of Marion Township; Almon R. of Peoria, 111., Mrs. Hazel Burgess of Indianapolis; Mrs. O. H McNary of Vevay and Berl E. of Marion Nine grandchildren have been priviledged lo know grandmother’s loving interest and kindly counsel, and her* five young great- grandchildren were a •source of joy and pride. Early in life she accepted Christ as her Savior at a meeting at Mt. Meridian, latei becoming a member of the Bethel Maplist Church. This membership she retained the remainder of her life. Her faith in God was implicit the guiding principle of her life, and she was a living example of this faith to her childlen Her family and their welfare was always her chief interest, and the home was always a place
