GliOL I HEA..S WILLIUE ^ast century there came anoncept—to curb the large r\ 3©s. Then came gov- \ yontrol. Thirdly, came u.c. cc operative business which did not start with the farmers but with the little business. He pointed out that the farmer had a problem because they had become self-sufficient. They did not create a surplus to take care of those who went to the cities. In the countries now where there is no surplus, he said, there is a trend toward communism. To-
day every farmer takes care of five families who live in towns. Seventy-one per cent of our raw materials today come from the. farm. This increase in production, he explained, has come through organization and these co-operatives put back into the community their surplus funds, it is not sent away, and this helps to build a balanced economy.
