Add two beaten eggs, a little nutmeg and 1 _• teaspoon of vanilla. When thoroughly mixed, add 1 cup oatmeal I 1 - cups sifted pastry flour to which 2 heaping teaspoons of baking powdei has been added. Place in refrigerator over night Roll thin and cut with round cutter. Put not more than 1 .. teaspoon of filling on cookie and top wilh another, pressing edges together Hake in 350 degree oven till brown. FILLING Cj, lb. dates, cut fine 1 c water and L t lemon juice •a c. brown sugar. Cook until it thickens. Cool befbre using.
