Whenever. in the early rounds of bidding, you bid any numbei of no trump that is one no trump, two no trump or three no trump you are showing the full high card values of yom
hand.
Later, if you bid four no trumn ove your patner's bid of four in any suit, that bid does not ask for aces. It merely indicates that you think four no tump is
the best final contract.
Let's put it another way. When youi partner opens the bidding with one of a suit, you don't know whether he lias about two and one half honor
and national anthem followed Roll call was the lesson most enjoyed in 1951 There were is members and six childen present Four guests were. Mrs. Thoinas Martin, Mrs. Everett Patterson, Mrs. O. R. Ader and Mrs. Irwin Wallace. Mrs. Arthur Eggers gave a very interesting lesson on the care and repair of eleetieal appliance Everyone learned how to keep appliances clean without water. Safety lesson was given by Mrs. Harry Martin. Then the secretary’s and teasurer's reports followed. Mrs. Maurice Bryan gave the Outlook for 195During the business meeting the president read the constitution of the county Home Demonstration club and discussed a tour and special interest hssooThe club prayer was recited in unison. Mrs. John Raymann gave two contests which were won b\ Mrs. Everett Patterson and Mrs Wilbur Inman. Mrs. Raymond Ader gave a demonstration on making flowers from cleaning tissues and each person made one. for herself in place of the door prize usually

W. P. (Doc) Kigdon has tired ax a road building «pmtractor after having built many of the new roads in Hendicks County during the past 30 years. He has sold the business and equipment to Shumaker Brothers of Indianspolis. Mr. Ridgon became a cqntfactor for building roads ahd bridges when he wax 22 years old His first contracts were in Hancock County. Later he operated in Marion County In 1922 he contracted for his fiust road in Hendricks County. This was Die Aii-hart Road north of Brownsburg, and was a stone road. His next county contract was for the Kims Road near Pittsboro. In later years he did mainly blacktop contracting, and most of his work was in Hend-
ricks County.
Mr. and Mrs. Ridgon had lived in Shelby County. When he was awarded his first two contracts In this county, he and Mrs. Riddon roomed and boarded in Brownsburg. In 1925 they moved to Danville and have resided here contmously since that thruDanville Gazette.
His bid may be an absolute minimum oi it may bo just a queen short of an opening two
bid.
Tells Whole Story However, if he opens with one n- trump, there is no such • spread" of values. You can figure his high card values within very narrow limits. In fact, any bid of one. two or three no trump, either as an opening bid or os a response, tells the whole story of the bidder’s hand. With that information ot hand it is the partner of the no trump bidder who is In a position to gauge slam possibilities. In today's deal Ml Dale opened the bidding with one spade and rebid two spades over Miss Brash's two diamond response. Logieal Cull When Miss Brash now bid three clubs, he felt that his hand was slightly over a minimum and made the logieal call of three no trump. Still thinking about a slam, Miss Brash bid four clubs. After some thought. Mr. Dale bid four no trump, which ended the
auction.
Miss Brash properly figured this four no trump hid was not asking for aces. Mr. Dale had already shown that he was not interested in slam. In other words, when he bid three no trump he must have been satisfied to stay right there, because how did he know his three no trump bid would
