TRIAL POSTPONED FORT WAYNE. Ind , Jan. 9— < UP) The first-degree murder trial of Steven J. Maljak. 29, was postponed for one week today while he recovered from wounds suffered in his second suicide attempt. Authorities said the former restaurant operator slashed his wrists with a razor blade in the Allen county jail yesterday, only hours before he was to go on trial for the fatal shooting of his wife, Maxine, last August 3. Maljak was rushed to a hospitol and received three blood transfusions, and attendants said he will recover. He shot himself in the abdomen after shooting his wife, authorities said, in his first attempt to end_
his life.
The trial before Allen circuit judge William H. Schannen was reset for Jan. 15 .
