Fivo OrefiiLTis'1<* Boy Scouts had an idea and th. y carried it through to a most successful conclusion. The result was that the Girl Scouts of the eighth grade, under the leadership of Mrs. Hoy Sutherlin, iiad a very hajipy surprise at their meeting on Tuesday afternoon. It all goes hack to February, when the Girl Scouts baked cup cakes for the Boy Scouts on th" anniversary of the scout movement. For some time the boys have been planning to repay the girls, and hit upon the idea of baking a cake for the girls on the birthday < i the Gill Scouts, which is tin week So on Monday night Steve Sutherlin, Jim Moss, Jaek Mile.,. * Phil Haines and Johnny Mayhall met in th kitchen of the Roy Sutherlin home, donned aprons, got out the cook book, and proeeded to bake a large white birthday cake for the girls. It was a thing of beauty with a skull and cross hones in green icing to complete the finishing touch. We cannot say how good was the culinary ability of the Boy Scouts, but it is reported that the Gnl Si outs wen delighted that their hoy fi ieiels remembered their birthday. Accepting the presentation for the eighth grade Girl Scouts were Ann Headley, president; Nancy Meyer, secretary; .Marjorie Howard, treasurer; and Kay Hinkle, vice president.
