The association represents companies which produced about 150,000.000 of the nation's 1950 soft coal output of 500,000.000 tons. The agreement, which surprised union and industry leaders in the coal fields, was re|M>rted as government economic stabilizers planed overall price and wage coat rols. Coal operators said they would have to piss the cost of hlghet wages on to consumers. One estimated the prii e of coal would be boosted about 25 cents a ton.
