New Record Kept On Oil Drilling

INDIANAPOLIS. Oct. 11. Ralph E. Ksarcy, petroleum geologist. working with Indiana Un - versi'y and the Indiana Department of Conservation recently

announced the introduction of if new type of record that is being kept on oil wells drilled in the

state.

In the early days of this century when oil and gas wells were being drilled on nearly every front in the state, there was a tremendous amount of waste ol these materials. In addition t the waste, another tragic factoi was the lack of records on such wells. v “If good records had been kep' at that time,” Mr. Esarey pointed out. “oil operators could now go back into the old producing areas and recover much of the oil which was left in the reservoir formation, the 'H elton limestone.” Today, the maintenance of i
