THREE HELD FOR LEGION HOME HOLDUP TERRE HAUTE, Ind., Oct. 10 (UP) Three men accused of holding up an American Legion post at Riley were scheduled to be arraigned on robbery charges today. Three men forced their way into the Legion home last Friday after warning Watchman Arden Guizzetti they would dynamite the building. Guizzetti had held them away at gun point for two hours. Arrested were William A. Howell, 39, Hillsdale, and Russell Salyyard, 33 and Herman Shaffer, 34, both of Terre Haute. Howell and Salyard were captured here, Shaffer was arrested at Newton, Ill. State Police Detective Harold Roseberry said all three were exconvicts. The bandits escaped in Guizzetti’s car after taking $1,000 from a safe and smashing a bar and furniture estimated at $3,000 by Legion post Commander Lloyd York.
