Loeffier mans the wheel of his cabin cruiser after the detective and his wife rescue the Peloquin couple and their son Mike from a buoy in Great South bay, New York, near Jones inlet to the sea. The Peloquins, who live in Jackson Heights, were fishing from an outboard motorboat when tide swells capsized the craft.
