Mrs. Mildred Newkirk and son of Bisbee, Ariz . is visiting relatives and friends in this city. Lloyd Rouse and Franklin Scott left Monday for Denver, Colo., They expect to be gon? two weeks. The picnic planned for August 11th by members of the Big Walnut Ladies Aid has been postponed for the present. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Garrett of Monument, New Mexico, are spending their vacation with friends and relatives in Greencastle. The fifty-first annual Stoner reunion will be held Sunday. August 14. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar O’Hair near Brick Chapel. Sunday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs. Joe Hinote were Mrs. Sylean Glover and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Farmham of Indianapolis. Mrs. J. R. John has returned to her home after a three weeks visit with Mr. and Mrs. Jess L. Hutcheson and family in Bow ling Green. Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. D M. Wright who reside on n farm south of Groveland will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 14th with open house from 2-5. Mrs. Edith Scott spent last week visiting her granddaughter and family, Ml. and Mrs. R. V. Rouse near Ladoga. On Friday Mrs. R. V. Rouse, Mrs. Cecil Rouse, Mrs. Edith Scott, Mrs Lucille Beck and Mrs. Davis all spent the day in Indianapolis. Those who spent Sunday in the Reuse home were Cecil Scott and children of Poland, Miss Patsy i Scott of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Beck and children. Mrs. Scott returned home on Sunday.

Please meet at the usual place. A good attendance is desired. + 4- + + Cloverdale Club Met With Mrs. Crawley The Thursday Club of the Cloverdale Com nunity met at the home of Mrs. Clara Crawley for their August meeting. Twelve members, four guests Mrs. Grace Wissci, Mrs. Cora Retmier. Mary Cradick, Belly Zeigelman and four children were present to enjoy the etc licious dinner served at noon. The business meeting was conducted in the usual manner with the president, Lula Cox presiding. There being no old business, plans were disc used frl picnic for members and their families. Committees were appointed to take care or this and the date will bo announced later. Hfctertainment was furnished by Mrs. Crawley and prizes given to Gertrude Zeigefman, Idi Sinclair, Cora Retmier, Helen Sinclair, Hallie Runnels and Alma Grimes. A pitch-in dinner was spread on tables under tae tall Locust trees and althoug'i the crowd was not large, the amount of load prepared and consumed was no small item. The president. Mrs. Hazel Michael Scobee, being unable to attend caused the vtce president to assume tho duties of elect nil, officers lor 1950 and prcsidim; over the afternoon meeting. The program committee, Milt Brown of Greencastle and Ralph Fry of Cloverdale. both foi mepupils of the old school, saw to it that the minutes did not dra", Mrs. Clara Hdhs Reeves. wt>' has the ability to make you see what ever she is describing, gave us an account of her trip to Scotland and back a year ago this fall. She gav# our Hoosier ego a jolt when she told us, she came in contact with people on their voyage across tho Atlantic who had never even tieard of Ipdiana. One thing was quite noticable in all of the talks that day. was the fact that as we grow older we appreciate the friendships we made in our happy schooldays and those memories bring us many pleasant moments. Mrs. Mary Blown Priest of Bainbridge was the only former teacher present and Mrs. Lou Brown Scobee of Indianapolis was the oldest former pupil present, while Mr, H. G. Browr. of the home comtnunily was the oldest former patron present. Jesse Priest of IndtanapolW entertained the crowd wrtti several selections on his rianjo.
