A RTHUR KOBER’S a birthday party
five-year-old daughter, Cathy, attended
a birthday party where the food had been seasoned toe strongly for her liking. Quite naturally, she remarked to hei
hostess, “This is awful!”
“Oh, no,” corrected her nurse. "It's very good. It's just a little different. You’ll get to like it.” "No," said Cathy, "I won't like it. It's Just awful." On the way home, the nurse explained, "When you're eating out. dear, it's all right to say the food Is good if you like it, but if you don’t, just leave it on your plate and don't say
anything.”
The next Saturday, Cathy went visiting again. For lunch, she was served creamed chicken, which she loves, and peas, which she always has hated. She finished the chicken, tasted the peas, then looked at her nurse, and in her best Entily Post voice remarked, "These peas are delicious —but awful." Copyright. 1919. by Ucnnctt Ctrl.
