4-H CLUB NEWS
An ice cream supper was t'nu main event of Jefrs Hog Herders regular meeting held July 18 at 7::!0 CPT at the school building. Entertainment was furnished by the Sun Down Hangers.
Everybody enjoyed the music and the Virginia Keel was daj '• ed to the tune of Turkey In tli.» Straw. Robert Morrison, vice pros'dent, called the meeting to o 1 '- der. The Pledge to the Flag was led by Richard Morrison and
th 4-H Pledge by Norman Sims. The 4-H Tiail and Now Is T. e Hour was led by the song leaders. The minutes were read and approved. It was announced that the meeting planned for July 3i> will be held July 23 due to '.he Cloverdale picnic.

A talk on 4-H Club work wjs given by Tom Hendrlcss. Wendell Goodpaster gave a demonstration on the Control o' Termites. The meeting was adjourned and everybody went home full if ice cream and cake.

The h ige Inland Steel Co. ore carrier, built by the American Ship Building Co., is longer by 28 feet than some of the latest lake freighters. It has a molded depth of 37 feet, carrying capacity of 20.000 gross tons and speed of 16L- miles per hour. It is 678 feet long and cost $5,000,000. (Interna'ional)
