BLOOMINGTON, Ind., July IS. iINSl The Showers Brothers Furniture Company, of Bloom; ingtun, has announced reduced prices on all its products from seven to 15 per cent and will guarantee its prices for the next three months. Guy Burnett, company president. said: "For several months retailers ha Vi- overstressed the price angle, and, as a result, many >f them are operating with what is believed to be a perilously small inventoty. "1 personally believe that retailers will lie doing more than 60 per cent of their furniture business the last half of this year. Should consumer buying perk up in the next few weeks, retailers, as well as manufacturers, are apt to find themselves short of adequate stocks.” Burnett said that the lowering of material costs, such as lumhei and veneer, has played a big pan in the reduction.

Soviets Uncover New Jet Planes

MOSCOW, July 18.— (UP) — Foreign observers said today hat new types of Russian jet fighters displayed in the Soviet air show swept across their field of vision at such high speeds they couldn't tell what they look'd like. Western military attaches wno viewed the annual Soviet air -how yesterday said they could lot describe the appearance or haractcr of the new jets beause of their high speed. The planes flashed across Tushino airfield at an altitude of less than 1.000 feet. They came into view and disappeared, beyond the horizon before the announcer managed to finish his statement that they were there. A number of the new types were shown in the annual display if Soviet air power as well as improved models of three jot fightis displayed in previous shows. The jets appeared in such Isrge numbers that foreign air ibsorvers said Russia now apparntly has them in mass production. The air show was under the ditectiin of Lt. Gen. Vassily Stalin, ommandant of air forces in the Moscow military area and son of Premier Josef Stalin. Premier Stalin, tanned by the uin, watched the exhibition from i special box in company with •ther members of the Politburo.
