Melvin Myer, manager of the store, was in charge of the group, and prior to the meeting, t coupons good for “cash” hail been distributed to contest winners and this “money” was used during
the evening.
Following the dinner an auction of various items was held on the lawn at the Inn and ^1 who had been given “bonus mon-
ey" participated in the auctions and items of considerable value were sold to the highest bidders. Inflation in the auction ran riot and a dollar bill, the last item sold, went for the measley new deal sum of $850.
