MOTION PICTURE STARS LISTED AS REDS BYF.B.I.

FREDERIC MARCH, EDWARD G. ROBINSON INCLUDED IN SECRET FJLES WASHINGTON, June 9.— Hollywood movie stars Frederic March, Edward G Robinson and other major figures in the west coast film colony were named in a secret FBI report Wednesday as alleged members of the Communist party. The report said a confidential informant had told the FBI that March was a “CP member in 1947” and was active in “thr Communist infiltration of the motion picture industry.” March, in Bryn Mawr, Pa., said hy telephone to New York that the report was “the most absurd thing I've ever heard of. He said his remark “goes for me and my wife, too.” He declined further comment. The informant also named as members such noted actors, writers and directors as Dorothy Parker, Donald Ogden Stuart. Ruth McKinney, Alfred Mnltz, Alvah Bessie, Dalton Trumbe, Millen Brand and Michael Blank-

fort.

Dorothy Parker, reached at her Hollywood apartment, said: “This makes me very sick. I'm damned glad to be an American and always have been ...” Mnltf, Trumbo and Bessie are screenwriters among the so-call-ed “unfriendly 10” cited for contempt of the House Un-American Activities Committee for refusing to answer questions on their political affiliations. They are now sung for reinstatement 'to studio jobs which they contend they were denied as a result .If the hearing.
