OBITUARY Arthur Stone, son of Samuel J. and Sarah Ellen Stone was born near Bainbridgp, Ind., October
2nd, 1874.
He became a member of the Methodist church early in life. The Stones were of English decent and were among the early pioneers of Virginia and Kentucky. They settled in Putnam county in 1851. Mr. Stone was united in marriage to Lula Mae Toney Oet. 16, 1804 and to this union were born 10 children the 'oldest, Ethel Mae, having died in infancy. After a short illness, Mr. Stone passed away peacefully at the Putnam County Hospital April 22 at 8:00 A. M. at the age of 74 years and 6 months.

Andrew Russell both of Indianapolis and Donald Layne of Oak Park, Til. Besides the children, he also leaves eight grandchildren, twj great grandchildren, two brothers, Layne Stone of Indianapolis and Walter Stone of Terre Haute. His wife, Lula Mae Stone, preceded him in death Sept. 12, 1047. Throughout his lifetime, he enjoyed good health. Soon, however, after the death of his beloved wife, his health began to fail. He was a kind and devoted father and a dear relative and friend. His pleasant companionship will be missed by all who knew him.
