Social Security To Be Overhauled
WASHINGTON, April 19.— (UP) President Truman’s bioad new social security proposals seemed certain today of a borough overhauling in Congress. Members of the House Ways md Means Committee, who pla . o conclude two months of hearings on social security next week, expressed the belief that the bill finally approved by the j committee and by congress will all far short of Mr. Truman’s | recommendations. Even such a staunch administration supporter as Rep. Herman P. Eberharted, D., Pa., a tommitlee member, conceded hat Congress won’t enact the full administration program. However, there was every indication that the committee ultimately would approve legislation incorporating many of the less controversial of Mr. Truman's lecommendations. The House is ikely to approve whatever the ommittee recommends.
