V., cigar counter to fame and millions In the 1920 s, has been committed to Manhattan State hospital for the mentally ill, say New York reports. The blonde daughter of a bartender married a wealthy Colombian who died and left her a gold mine and fortune. She went about wearing 11,000,000 In gems, including a G2-carat diamond on one hand and a 48-carat one on the other (see picture at left). In her fifties now, she hit the headlines in 1927 In Pari* when she offered $50,000 to be flown to the U. S. as first womaa transatlantic passenger. The trip was never made. INDIANAPOLIS, March 31.— (UP)—A. C. Oolby, director of the Oil and Gas Division of the Indiana Department of Conservation, announced today that 118 new oil wells hail been drilled in Indiana since the first of the year. Colby said 46 of the wells were producers.
