The Red Devils increased this ■Uge to IS to 9 in second frame

Brazils fast-breaking Red Devils invaded Greencaatle Tuesday night and for the second time this season defeated the Tiger Cub netters in a game that was witnessed by about iJSOO rabid fans. The final score was 41 to 31, but the big disappointment for local backers was the almost complete reversal of form displayed b\ the Cubs against Brazil in comparison with their exhibition against the strong Shelbyville squad last Friday evening.

The Tiger Cub passing was erratic and their defense at times was woefully weak for Brazil's speedy offensive. The Cubs were also “cold" on sh .ts under the

hoop.

Grcencastle jumped into a 2point lead as the opening quartet | got underway on two free throws ^ by Stites. A short time later,

the Cubs still led. 4-S, bill that Brown was the last line as Brazil took ! Roberts

and were out in front, 24 to 1- a. the rest intermission. The Cubs outscored the visitors. 9-5 in the third frame but Brazil held a comfortable 29 to 21 advantage as the final period

starti-d.

Grcencastle climbed to within 3 points of Brazil about half way in the last quarter and t he count was 31 to 28 Beaman connected for the Red Devils and Jim Pierce left the game via the personal foul route with 3 minutes remaining Beaman again hit and Brazil gradually pulled away to win, 41 to 31. Don Stites with 4 field goals and 5 free throws took high scoring honors for the evening -.vith 13 points. Blakoniore and Smith each collected 9 points for the Red

Devils.

WHAT TO 00 about a "fake" divorce which seems to have boomeranged into a real one is problem of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Campbell, whose marital ties were severed when Cleveland Press reporter Leonard Hammer (Inset) obtained what he thought was a phony decree for them In Cleveland Common Pleas court of Judge Samuel H. SilberL He just wanted to prove anyone could get one without any evidence. Campbell is makeup editor of the Press. The judge refused to vacate the evidenceless, lawyerless decree, which Hammer's familiarity with court procedure enabled him to "put through.” Not only that—the marriage license bureau wouldn’t Issue the Campbells a license to be remarried! (International)

Not only was repentance and remission of sins to be preached beginning at Jerusalem but also it was to he preached “in his

name.”

Notree Peter knows what to preach God's word. Peter didn't have the burden of his o\Vn word as so many have today. Jer. 23:36 . . for every man’s word shall be his burden, for ye have perverted the words of the living God. . . . Verse 26 . . yea. they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart. Verse 32 . . . therefore they shall not profit this people at ail. saith the Lord. Verse 28 . . . And he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully What is the rhaff to the wheat ? saith the Lord. What then does it mean “in. his name"? as thus Peter began at Jerusalem to preach this glorious gospel ? Peter had a revelation from

God.

He now knew that Jesus wai God's saving iiaine. Acts 4 12 Neither is there sa - Nation in any other: for there is none othei name under heaven given among men. whereby we must be saved. A woman joined in marriage takes her husband’s name. St. Matthew roads: Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh also Ephesians 5:32 This is a great mystery: but I speak

16. also Paul in Acts 19:5. when they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lor 1 Jesus. These three great men of God with one accord obeyed the Great Commission when they preached the same message as Acts 2:38 where Peter used the keys to open the door of th" church. It is God’s way for you to be born again of the water, and of the Spirit and be his child. Preachers, what gospel have you? Do you preach the things concerning the name ? and baptize believers in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name where we must be saved? What miracles and signs have followed your preaching? Does God confirm the gospel you preach? Or shall it be said of you. let him be accused? Amen. Winnie L. Arnold, minister.

W’hen we lived in Brookfield my wife used to rave about the gorgeous sunrises that came ovei the Berkshire Hills.

Many a time she tried to get me up to admire them.

I still have to see my first Brookfield sunrise, and to tell you the honest truth, 1 don't think I have seen ten sunrises in all my life. Sunsets, to me, are every bit as nice.

So much for that one. I could go on for pages about it.. But 1 haven’t the space. Here are a few more that 1 think are the bunk. “First impressions arc the mest lasting." ask any you”? blade who has fallen for a girl on "first impressions." Look at your divorce records. ERICH BRANDEIS Sorry to disappoint you. ladies j and gentlemen.

After today you may consider me a ne'er-do-well and a bad influence on the children. Because I hereby state and aver that most of the generally accepted maxims, adages, proverbs and what-have-you are the bunk.

For want of anything better to do I read over quite a few of them last night. Take this one: "Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise." Why should it? Does it?
