MAN FOUND SLAIN INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 4 (UP i Police said today that a 27-year-old packinghouse worker was shot, to death in an alley on his way to work last night. The body of James Kelly Brooks was found by three women. He was shot once through

the heart.

Kelly, an employe of Kingan and Co., had just left home on his way to work when he was shot, police said. They believed he was killed by a slug from a

38-caliber pistol.

Authorities believed Brooks was shot by someone who apparently was familiar with the route he took to work and lay in

wail for him.

rom where I sit... Ay Joe Marsh

"Husbands, Wives, and Marriage"

Maybe you read that survey published recently in a national magazine, cut it led “Husbands, Wives, and Marriage.” It showed that among happily married couples, those who criticized Ihemsflveit outnumbered those who criticized the other person. Among unhappily married couples, it was just the opposite — each one tended to criticize theother. That’s the way it is in our town, ns I guess it is in yours. Criticism, whether it’s of a wife’s taste for hats, or a husband’s taste for pip»

tobacco and an evening glass of beer or ale, is a sure start toward* unhappiness. As for what made happy marriages, companinnehip within the home was listed most important of all. And from where I sit, a husband and wife who ran spend an evening by the fire — with nothing mora exciting than a mellow glass of beer, and a friendly conversation— are a truly well-matched couple!
