The Youth For Christ Rally I was a real blessing to a largo; crowd Saturday night. A choir of young people from Indianap-; oiis tfrought special music. Evangelist F. A. Wirth of Petersburg, 1 III., brought an inspiring mes- 1 sage on the subject “The Astonishing Christ.’’ He gave a chal
lenging invitation to
Christ as saviours and know His
astonishing peace and power.
Sunday morning was a great time of heart searching with Evangelist Wirth using as his subject, “What a Pastor Wishes For His Flock.” Two came to place their membership with the
church.
The house was filled Sunday evening and the evangelist spoke on the subject, “The Holy Spirit and the Sinner.” He told us that the Holy Spirit, one of the per'sons in the God head had a definite part in the salvation of sinners in that He convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment to jeome. The Holy Spirit can be | grieved to the extent that the sinner no longer will be moved to make a decision for Christ. The public is invited to attend the meeting tonight at 7:00 o'clock. Evangelist Wirth will speak on the subject “The Great Sacrifice of Christ.” Paul M. Robinson, pastor, will direct the song service.

Despite a chancery court injunction against disturbing the meeting, more than 600 persons, mostly veterans crowded into Contemporary dub hall and snatched the American flag off the speakers platform as 62 police tried to keep order. When Manuel Cantop, chairman of the Mercer county chapter of the Communist party, tried to quiet the crowd, he was gieete ! with boos, cat-calls and invitations to step outside into the alley to fight. Eisler never
appeared.
A crowd of more than 5,000 persons gathered around the building, snarling traffic. Violence flared when a man and woman were beaten as they tried to enter the hall to speak. The couple, Arthur and Janice Brown, of Newark, were taken to safety by police aJid escorted out of town. Earlier in the evening, 350 members of veterans’ organizations met on the steps of the state capitol where Ray Wilcox, one of their leaders instructed them to march on the hall and picket the entrances in an order-
ly fashion.

The Jive Abouts, a quartet of Greencastle high school graduates, gave a well-accepted and en- ’ | tertaining program for convocation, October 22. The quartet consisted of Bill Grimes, Maxine Leslie, Betty Jo Flint and Bob Flannigan and their accompanist, Bill Lockwood. This group is well known and has been on radio station WIRE and were on WIRE television at this gear’s Indiana State Fair. While at Indianapolis the Jive Abouts 1 were given an audition by Henry Busse, the famed orchestra lead-
er.
The quartet opened its program by singing “My Desire” and “Singing Down the Road” and “She’s a Bad, Bad Girl.” Bill Lockwood, a former G. H. S. stuU< nt now attending DePauw, [presented three numbers on the piano. The Jive Abouts then sang “Kate” and “Blue Skies.” which were arranged by one of the quartet members, Betty Jo Flint. Bill Grimes sang his version of “On the Sunny Side of the Street.” A trombone solo by Bob Flannigan was followed by an encore “Lady Be Good.” The Jive Abouts concluded their interesting program with their | popular version of “The Sheik of. Arahee.” 1 The student body gave this’ convocation their approval which 1 seemed to be enjoyed by all. *
