13 Injured By Freak Tornado

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.. Oct. 8 (U'F) RFsidenU of a wartime housing project an I trailer camp today dug out from the wreckage left by a freak tornado that swept through a, 15-block area here last night, injuring at least 13 persons. The twister, which lasted less than 10 minutes, come without warning following a tropical storm that sent high tides pounding against beach communities to endanger seawalls for tho third time in nine days. Some 28 traders in a north sruburh trailer ramp were ripped from their foundations and smashed against each other. Store fronts along four blocks were blown in as walls crumpled and interiors were ruined. In the wartime civilian, housing project, consisting of houses with 'brick bases and frame uppers, roofs and frame tops were blown off as the brick portions remained standing.
