Congressman Noble J Johnson has furnished a supply of copies of Public Law 2. r >l. permitting veteran* to cash their terminal leave bonds, to Hubert I'oelli in. Service Officer for Veterans, located at the Court bow o. Greencastle. Indiana. The Treasury Department ha: announced it has completed arrangements with banks through out the country to cash the:-' bonds beginning September 2 1!M7 The procedure for cashing the bonds will be roughly th' same as banks have set up t cash Government savings bonds Besides principal value of the bonds, veterans can draw 2' L . percent interest for as long as they "have held the bonds Thinterest rate was set on a five year maturity basis and veter ans who want to keep the bond, until they mature, mas do so. Banks have been cautioned by the Treasury Department against eashing bonds for any one othe> than the person whose name i. inscribed on the bond and bankwill require the presentation o; original discharge or separation papers as identigication. Mrs. Elizabeth Susan Gibbons, living with her daughter, Mrs. Lee Bryan at Stilesville, observed her 99th birthday anniversary

last Sunday at her home.

Mrs. Gibbons was hern August 3. 1848, on a farm three miles east of Greencastle, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Christy. She was married to John Gibbons who passed away 48 years ago.
