Farber said that DePauw's Joint Board of Trustees and Visitors voted last year to authorize a limited number of Rector scholarships for use by foreign students. Currently, he said, approximately 200 American students who have received the award are on the campus. One of the new students, Lim, is the son of the headmaster of the Anglo-Chinese school in Singapore. Kontcnases’ father is a retired lieutenant colonel who was active with the Green army throughout World War II.
