NOTICE! To All Water Consumers
The Department of Water Works has for the past year been engaged in a major project of electrifying the pumping station. This modernization project is now nearing completion and work of changing over from the old pumping method to the new will be started about 8 o'clock P. M. (D.S.T.) Saturday, May 24, 1947. In making this change a suspension of pumping service of 15 hours is anticipated.
Under present conditions the consumption of water every 24 hours is approximately 1,200,000 gallons, and once the pumps are idle the entire supply of water available for the private consumers, City of Greencastle, DePauw University, Industry and Railroads is confined to the supply In the mains and the stand pipe or approximately 400,000 gallons. This means that there is a possibility that this city may be without water for several hours.
Patrons, you can help us conserve this small supply of water by using same as carefully and sparingly as possible during this change over.

A vary few know the “reaf’ meaning of those words .... to many who might hem known forgot too soon. “Thoso boys”, your sons, brothers, sweethearts and husbands, they didn’t fight a mock war with a lot of gusto of hew much they were doing, they didn t fight because they hod to - - they fought because every minute they wore out there they saw how ALL IMPORTANT “YOU” were to them and how they must make this a safe land for you to live in. Don’t forgot what those boys who are home now have done f6F : you .... and don’t forget those boys who are still over there .... Ploaso, don’t forget them just because they’re not hero to share you' good times with you - don’t let them down now - but above all, REMEMBER THEM ON MAY 30TH -
