HOSPITALS UP TO VET REQUIREMENTS Veterans Administration ho.--pital facilities in Indiana meet, the requirements of state veterans more adequately and with lef.s delay than in any of the other three .states Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin comprising the branch Seven area, VA reports show at the end of January. 'I here were no veterans in Indiana with service-connected dlr- < i (lei s awaiting admission to hospital* and there were only 81 applications awaiting processing (n non-service-connected iii’.menta, none of which were of an (mergency nature. Illinois had 819 nonservice-con-p< cted applications for admission pending while Wisconsin had 1.292 such applications. The VA has three hospitals in operation in the state. The hospital on Cold Springs Road, in IndianapoUa, with a bed caps-, city for 345 patients, had a turn- ' over of 340 patients during January. The hospitals at Flirt Benjamin Harrison has a 500 b«*1 (Hpacity but has an average of 500 each month. During January 466 patients were admitted and 333 were discharged. The VA hospital at Ft. Benjamin Harrison ha* been able to admit all applications, though four of its wards are not open due to lack of personnel. Jefferson Home Ee In Regular Meeting Tlie Jefferson Township Homo Eo Club held its regular meeting last Thursday afternoon, FVb. 27, with 12 members adn four guests present. The meeting was called to order by the president. Mrs. A nice Wallace with the reading of the creed, salute to the flag and roll call, followed with th. secretary and treasurer’s repo-t. One more new member. Mr'. Ivan Vaughn, was received to the club and was chosen for the 4-H adult leader. The business meeting was hem and the year books uassed ous.. The meeting was then turned over to the leader. Mrs. Gem Sallust, who gave a very interesting lesson on “Slip Covers,' 1 The program committee for February Uren took charge and a contest was held.
