• It would be difficult to attempt to evaluate the blessings which the genius of this one man made available to the entire world. But certainly there is no denying that his inventions changed the mode of life of civilized people everywhere, especially through his invention of the electric light which banished darkness at the touch of a switch. f Today, electricity's many applications are helping men and women in nearly every imaginable pursuit. Their osvn continued use of electricity has made possible the building of great electric plants like those of this Company located at Terre Haute and Edwardsport. And through these tremendous facilities, we are Able to produce and distribute a continuous flow of electric power throughout our territory—twenty-four hours every day—at a cost of only a few pennies a day to the households we serve. It is fitting to commemorate the centennial anniversary of « Thomas Alva Edison, the man who symbolizes better than anyone else, our ability today to live better electrically.
