After leading, 30 to 26. at the end of the first three quarters Friday night in the high school gym, the Tiger Cubs apparently a last period 'strange interlude" during which time they almost forgot to score and as a consequence the Pirates from Greensburg won the basketball encounter by a 43 to 35 decision. It was a good ball game until the final frame when the Greencastle defense became ragged and the Cub offense i ailed to function until the last two minutes of play. The Pirates held a one point edge at the quarter, 9 to 8. The Cubs took over, however, the second stanza and were leading 19 to 16 at the half. They continued to remain out in front at the end of the third period with a 4-point advant-

age, 30 to 26.

Urcensburg seemed to cast a charm over the Cubs for the next six minutes, collecting points on their side of the ledger j while blanking the locals. Finally, Jimmy Hammond came to life and agitated the draperies for a couple of buckets but the I damage was done and the Pirates trotted off the hardwood court with a 43 to 35 win under

their beltij.
