We are obliged to make these increases in order to pay our ers more money. To insure an adequate supply of milk to I local demand we must meet the price paid by manufacturers processors from surrounding towns.

Then there’s the Mt. Meridian man who came to town recently, transacted his business and returned home. But, he forgot that his wife came with him and she was stranded here until after he finished his evening chores. At least, that’s the story as we get

it.

Mr. Truman’s radio talk tonight may tell us whether we get more meat (we hope.) Harry (The Cat) Brecheen, slim little southpaw, pitched himself to glory yesterday and the St. Louis Cardinals into a tie with the Boston Red Sox for World Series honors. State police raided a bingo game near Noblcsville for the second time within nine days. The players will begin to think it’s a habit. We’re in favor of the Army sending a fleet of B-29 Superforts on a trip around this troubled globe. Teddy Roosevelt did the same thing with warships some years back. Have you noticed how many auto racing drivers have been killed this season?

, and capacities with job requirements is good business for both the employer and the veteran, H. U. Hinshaw, manager of the local United States Employment Service office said today. “The disabled veteran with a skill that matches the job makes) an excellent worker,” Mr. Hin-j shaw said, “There are few jobs that cannot be matched with some handicapped worker's

qualification.”

He painted out that the USES selective placement program for disabled veterans and other handicapped workers provides that when a referral is made to an employer the applicant must have the ability and qualifications to fill the job opening. "Selective placement is a positive program with the USES," Hinshaw said. “It .matches the right handicapped worker with

the right job.”

Using the selective placement process has enabled the local office of the USES to counsel and place more than. 50 handicapped [ workers curing the past three' months. Of these, 32 were vet- j erans of World War II, Hinshaw i

stated. ,

Employers and workers interested in learning more about the USES Selective placement program should contact the USES representative who ?s in this area one day each week, Mr. Hin-

shaw advised.
