Floyd McCallie comes forward with the suggestion that steps be taken to have a city-wide inspection of electrical wiring. This should be done, he says, from a safety standpoint, and adds that plumbing inspection from a sanitary angle wouldn't hurt anything either. He said he intends to present this matter to the Chamber of Commerce. It would be up to the city council j to pass an ordinance of this nature and also appoint an inspector. Fred Pease tells us that members of a certain university fraternity have been tossing lighted j matches as well as burning cigarette butts in the leaves on the I yard and in the gutter. This! habit can easily start a bad fire. Speaking of the burning leaves and other trash, did you know there is a city ordinance that i forbids fires of this kind after 5:30 p. m. Fire Chief William Lawrence indicated recently that he would prosecute if necessary to eliminate evening fire hazards.

Weather conditions permitting, the World Series wall get underway Sunday afternoon. Get j your favorite chair close to the ladio.
