Leslie Ham.iker, .youngest child of John and Mary Hamaker. was born August 9, 1S7-I at i FhitnamvlHe. Indiana where he ! spent his boyhood days. He was happily -rarri'd to Ida Florence Heath on December 22. 1897. The .first few years of his married life were spent in Indianapolis. A permanent horn' was established in Greencastle some fortyfive .years ago. His life work was in building contracting, and he built many beautiful homes in Greencastle and vicinity. He has been a member of the M. F Church for a number of years He was affiliated with the oh' Lourst Street, was a trustee there the time the Methodisl Churches in. this city consolidated. Sine■ then has been a faithful member of the Gobin Metho dist Church until his healti’ failed about a year ago. He has also been a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge tor many years He peacefully passed away at his home early Wednesday morning, January 9, 1916, at the age of seventy-one years and five months. STI DENT KILLED HUNTINGTON, Ind., Jan. 21 <UP) Conna Lee Hart, 17-year-old daughter >>f Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Hart, Was killed yesterday when a westbound Wabash passenger train struck the automobile in which she was riding and her father was driving.

Hart and .his granddaughter Lois An Hart, 14, suffered severe bruises, abrasions, minor cuts and shock. The accident occurcd after Hart picked up the two girls and a companion, Betty Hale, at the Huntington high school. Miss Hale had been left at her home a half-block from the scene of the accident.

Officials were unable to determine the cause of the accident because of the condition of the injured persons. The crossing was unguarded but the view each way was clear, officers said. Engineer R. A. Mead and conductor A. P. Sullivan, both of Peru, were in charge of the train.
