Club Met With
.Mrs. Walter Koach A pleasant day was enjoyed by the Friendly Neighbors Club of East Greencastle township on Wednesday at the home of Mrs.
Walter Roach.
Decorations were in keeping with the Christmas season. Fifteen members were present. The club again adopted the custom of “secret sisters” for the coming year, it having previously been discontinued. Pro-1 grams for 1945 were distributed. ’ Christmas Carols were sung 1 throughout the afternoon’s | meeting, closing with "God Be With You Till We Meet Again.” The Christmas grab bag afforded much pleasure for all. Mrs. O. W. Irwin will be hostess to the club in January.
Mrs. Helen Malloon and baby son of Union City returned to their home Tuesday from the Putnam county hospital.

Brown returned Monday night from Florida and Texas where th^y have been vacationing. Mrs. Mary Sullivan and baby daughter were discharged from the Putnam county hospital Tuesday. Mis. Bernice Sullivan of Spencer returned to her home from the Putnam County hospit al, Monday. Mrs. Dorothy Sutherlin and baby returned to their home from the Putnam County hospital, Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Rader have received word that their son, Pvt. Vurlin Rader has arrived safely in Italy. His new address may be obtained from his parents. , v Rev. Claude M. McClure was called to Indianapolis Monday to conduct the funeral of Mrs. Leroy Huddleston, wife of Rev. L. A. Huddleston a retired | Methodist minister. The funeral I was held from the Heath Memorial Methodist church. John Brown, farmer south of ■the city, bought a team of horses at a farm sale north of Brazil Saturday. The horseb were being driven home Saturday evening by a brother-in-law, who was walking behind the team. One horse was struck in a hip by a passing automobile south of the city on State Road 59. The horse was not seriously injured. State Patrolman Walter Rawley investigated the accident—Brazil

Relatives received a letter from Lawrence L. Shinn aaying he had viaited for two days with hia brother, Corp. Charlea L Shinn in a hospital in England. Charlea was wounded in France on Sept, 9. They are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Shinn, west Madison Township.
