Mrs. Emily Herod very delightfully entertained the Alpha Gamma Pi, November 28. At the home of Mrs. Grace Morehart the Stitch and Chatter Club held their 31st anniversary meeting Nov. 29. An elaborate dinner contributed by seventeen members was greatly enjoyed. A beautiful bouquet of carnations was the center piece for the table. Following the business meeting in the afternoon, Mesdames Inez Pruitt, Callie Cassidy, Carrie Cline and Neva Hunter had charge of the entertainment, which was won by Mesdames Marjorie Oliver, Anna Lisby and Lelia Hunter. All left at a late hour having spent a most enjoyable day. Mrs. Edith Ruark will be hostess to the next meeting at which time the group will exchange Christmas gifts. The Christmas committee of the Mother’s Afternoon Clu'J sent invitations to each member inviting them to come • to the home of the hostess, Mrs. Lillie Wright Tuesday at 12 o’clock They promptly assembled at the appointed time. In a short time the committee started to their destination, the remainder of the members not knowing where they were going until they reached Greencastle. All went to the Cafe Royal where they were served a delicious dinner. Following the dinner the group returned to Mrs. Wrights and spent the afternoon. Business meeting was transacted. Twenty two members responded to roll call with a Bible verse. Programs for 1945 were distributed and a gift exchange was enjoyed. All left at a late hour having spent a delightful afternoon. Edgar Harris who is home on a few days furlough from a camp in Mississippi.
